DESCRIPTION:Download Flyer Old \nDownload Flyer New \nOnly Nebraska players may compete in this event. The top player in each section will be the 2022 Nebraska Individual Scholastic Chess Champion! The top finisher in the K-12 section\, enrolled in grades 9-12\, will be the Nebraska qualifier for the Denker Tournament. The top finisher in the K-8 section\, enrolled in grades 6-8\, will be the Nebraska qualifier for the Barber Tournament. The top finisher in the K-5 section\, enrolled in grades K-5\, will be the Nebraska qualifier for the Rockefeller Tournament. \nPlayers enrolled this spring in any Nebraska school or who are home schooled are eligible. Ties result in co-champions\, however trophies and nominations will be determined by a playoff when necessary. No Half Point Byes will be permitted. \nAdult players aged 50 years or older as of May 7\, 2022 are eligible to compete in the State Senior Championship. On-site registration is from 8:00-8:45 am. 3 rounds\, G60 d5\, rounds will be at 9 am\, 12 pm\, and 2 pm. \nOn-site registration is from 8:00-8:45 a.m. Only players who have checked-in by 8:45 will be paired for round 1. Opening announcements held 5 minutes before the first round starts. –Round 1 for K-12 starts at 9:00; Round 1 for K-8 starts at 9:10; Round 1 for K-6 starts at 9:20 and Round 1 for K-3 starts at 9:30. Subsequent rounds will start approx. 10 minutes after completion of prior round. Lunch breaks will be announced. Help wanted\, we are asking for a section monitor for each section. Chess knowledge helpful but not required. \n  \nK-12: Open to K-12th grade – 4 rounds at Game/60 (if enough players\, 5 rd\, G 45) Trophies to Champion\, 2d\, 3rd; 1st and 2d Under 1000. \nK-8: Open to K-8th grade – 4 rounds at Game/60 (if enough players\, 5 rd\, G 45) Trophies to Champion\, 2d\, 3rd; 1st and 2d Under 800. \nK-6: Open to K-6 grade – 5 rounds at Game/45 Trophies to Champion\, 2d\, 3rd; 1st and 2d Under 600. \nK-5: Open to K-5 grade – 5 rounds at Game/45 Trophies to Champion\, 2d\, 3rd; 1st and 2d Under 600. \nK-3: Open to K-3 grade – 5 rounds at Game/30 Trophies to Champion\, 2d\, 3rd; 1st and 2d under 400. \nNo nomination\, Class title\, or trophy for unrated players. \n  \nUSCF membership is required for all sections except the K-3 Primary section. The entry fee is waived if student or faculty at UNO. \nPre-Registration: Please use the sign-up spreadsheet link above.\nQuestions may be e-mailed to scusumano90@gmail.com \nSections/Round Times/Time Control:\n5 distinct sections: Open\, U1600\, U1200\, U800\, U400. \n• Open/U1600 – 40 minutes delay 5 seconds \no R1: 9am or shortly after registration\no R2: 10:45\no Lunch Break\no R3: 1:30\no R4: 3:15 \n• U1200 — 30 minutes delay 5 seconds \no R1: 9am or shortly after registration\no R2: 10:15\no Lunch Break\no R3: 12:45\no R4: 2:00 \n• U800/U400 \no 5 rounds\no Round times and lunch break announced at the tournament.\no Clocks are not necessary\, but please bring boards \nAdditional Information: \nBoards and clocks must be provided by the players themselves.
