POY and Closed Championship Qualification Changes

The POY tournaments this year will be:
Omaha City Championship
Midwest Open
Cornhusker State Games
Lincoln City Championship
Great Plains Open.

Player of the Year Titles:

1st Place – Plus Scoring for the 5 POY events
2nd Place – Plus Scoring for the 5 POY events
B Player – Plus Scoring for the 5 POY events
Scholastic – Regular Scoring for the 5 POY events (no change)
Reserve – Regular Scoring for the 5 POY events (no change)

Qualification for the State Closed Championship:

Only residents of Nebraska may qualify.

Winner of the MWO
Winner of the CSG
Winner of the GPO
The rest of the spots will be taken from the POY standings using plus scoring. 2 spots if the returning champion defends he title, 3 if he does not defend his title.

Note, there may have to be a tie-break playoff if there are multiple winners at the MWO, CSG, or GPO or if an individual wins 2 or all 3 tournaments (since the people tied for 2nd would have to play for the qualifying spot).

Plus Scoring:

Subtract losses from wins and floor at 0. Draws do not count. See how the scoring system works below.
